Our Goal
To develop leadership skills through guided, meaningful activities and projects in a cooperative manner within our school and our community.
The Highland Lakes Elementary Student Council plays a vital role in the development of the students. Sixth grade students run for offices of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Students from each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classes are Chosen by teachers or appointed by their peers to become members of Student Council. The group meets on a regular basis to plan school-wide activities as well as charity events.
One important function of the Student Council is to promote school spirit through the use of monthy spirit days and RED RIBBON WEEK. The Student Council members will try to encourage all students and staff to participate in various activities.
Highland Lakes Elementary Student Council supports charities through yearlong donations and contributions from staff, students, parents and our community. We will be working as a group to help local charities such as: Center Against Domestic Violence, Adopt-A-Family and Packages from Home.
